I had been T-Tapping for nearly a year when I heard of the 60-day challenge. T-Tapp has helped me maintain a 50-60 pound weight loss, keeping me in a size 18 rather than my former size 24/26. When I read about the 60-day challenge, I thought it would be a great way to break through the plateau I’ve been stuck on for about a year. It seems like size 18 was the lowest I could go, but I’d been slacking off on my exercise, eating way too much junk, and my size 18s were getting too snug!
I started by switching from Track 1 to Track 2 in Habit Formers. It was hard to get the extra exercise in, with the busy schedule of working, cooking, cleaning, playing “Mom’s Taxi” and volunteering at church, but over the course of 60 days, I made it happen. Much of that was due to the fact that I roped my husband into the 60-day challenge, too, asking him to do BWO+ three times a week. Often, he would say “Come on, we have to T-Tapp before I go to bed!” I think about half my workouts were around 10 PM! My husband and I both noticed that we slept much better after our late-night T-Tapp workouts.
About mid-way through the challenge, I was discouraged that I didn’t seem to be losing as well as I wanted to, so I made the commitment to improve my eating habits too. I started eating a lot more fruits and vegetables, and switched to leaner meats.
Now, at the end of the challenge, I’ve dropped nearly 20 inches, and the jeans that I couldn’t zip up at the beginning of the challenge fit very comfortably. The 60-day challenge has given me the momentum to keep pushing on my weight-loss goals, to get back to the size 8 I wore in 1989 (two pregnancies ago). The fact that I FINISHED is a huge motivation for me. I have proved to myself that I CAN do this!
Why do I want to win the challenge? I figure that by the time October rolls around, I’ll probably be at another plateau… and I figure a few days of focused training that the retreat would offer would give me another burst of momentum toward reaching my goals.
