*Health Improvement: I am recovering from chronic Lyme Disease and I also have diastases, pelvic organ prolapse, sclerosis, lower back pain, weakened core from pregnancy and pain from internal tears/4th degree episiotomy from my 2nd pregnancy. My 8lb 12oz son was born 11 months ago via VBAC.
In the summer of 2000 I started to experience neurological problems and was diagnosed with possible Multiple Sclerosis. For years I suffered from various neurological symptoms and chronic fatigue. It wasn’t until 2006, 9 months after the birth of my first child, I had a horrible neurological attack which caused the left side of my body to be completely numb and I also got facial palsy. This landed me in the hospital for the entire week before my first Mother’s Day. I was so sick and weak from the attack and the steroids they pumped into my body.
I did more research on my symptoms and found an Infections Disease doctor at John Hopkins who was willing to take my case. He believed that I had late stage Lyme Disease that had mutated into neurological symptoms and caused my brain lesions. After a course of antibiotics, my symptoms, one by one, began to decrease and go away. Also my MRI showed decreased size of my brain lesions.
Unfortunately, since it the disease had been festering in my body for so long before it was treated, I have been left residual damage and chronic Lyme Disease symptoms that are exacerbated with stress, lack of sleep, illness, etc. I have always led a very active life but was cautious about exercising to hard because it could make some of my symptoms flare up due to the stress on my body.
I gave birth to my second child in June 2008 and decide to have a VBAC because I thought it would be less traumatic for my system than a C-Section. My child was too large for my pelvis and after 24 hours of labor and 2.5 hours of pushing, they decided to yank him out with a vacuum. This left me with 4th degree external and internal tears and pelvic organ prolapse. I also have diastatis.
I found T-Tapp in my search to help resolve my prolapse issues. The people at the T-Tapp office were so helpful and encouraging. I began to do Organs in Place and the 15 minute workout. It was amazing to me how much better I began to feel.
I decided to participate in the 60-Day Challenge and step up my working a notch to the Total Workout. I have always been thin but the lack of working out for fear of neurological issues and two pregnancies have left me soft and out of shape with a big stomach. I also suffer from scoliosis and a very weak core. My goal was to become toned, healthier and loose my belly.
After just 60 days of T-Tapping, I am surprised how strong my stomach and back muscles have become and how posture has improved. My back pain has vanished and my energy has increased tremendously. I used to have a terrible stiff neck and pain that would cause my hands to go numb at night when I slept but that has also disappeared. My diastasis has decreased and my pelvic organ prolapse has gotten much better so much so that I don't even notice it anymore. My scar pain from the vacuum used to deliver my son has almost completely vanished. One day when I was wearing a skirt my husband even commented that my legs and behind looked very toned.
Overall I feel stronger, have more energy, sleep better and I am more toned. I have not quite reached my goal of having a flat stomach yet but I have lost 3 inches from my waist and I am confident that I will eventually achieve my goal with T-Tapp. I have gained the confidence that I can not only exercise without the fear of slipping into a neurological attack from undue stress on my body that accompany most workout routines, but I can also gain back by health and pre-pregnancy body by using the T-Tapp workout. Whether I win the challenge or not isn’t as important as what I have gained from this experience. Regardless, I feel that I have won because I have found an exercise routine that not only helps my symptoms, but makes me feel and look better.
