60 Day Challenge
Winner: More to Lose Category

Brenda Case

After a friend died of cancer in 2002 I knew it was time to take my health seriously and get myself to be as healthy and fit as possible. I lost 55 pounds from June 2002 to May 2003 by eating healthy without counting calories, fats, calories etc.

In July 2003 I read about T-Tapp, searched the website frequently and roamed the forum. Finally in August 2003 I decided it was time to jump on the Tapping wagon. I began in September 2003 and have continued with tapping since then on a pretty regular schedule.

Although I seem to be a slow loser I was interested in entering the contest for the challenge. Along with the challenge I wanted to see what results and commitment I could make for myself since I was feeling a little discouraged.

I am faithful with starting my day with PBS and brushing with few exceptions. I use Alfalfa daily. My workout schedule begins right after work when I get home. I have found that if I wait until after dinner I will not get it completed. I started on Wednesday, June 30, with Beginner/Rehab tape and then jumped onto a weekend blitz for the first time. This was the first time for a blitz and I had to have some self-talks to encourage myself. The benefit was that my shorts fit so much better after that weekend.

After the blitz I mixed up my workouts. My plan was to workout 6 days a week but I realized that things don't always go as planned. I had one week that I tapped only once but I generally was able to Tapp 5 times a week with two weeks of 6 days. But this lesson taught me that life is living with interruptions and making the best of things as I can without throwing in the towel.

I did a 7-day bootcamp of Beginner/Rehab and Tempo at the end of July to restart after my 6-day lapse. At this time I continued with a variety of moves for a week but then I felt burned out. I stopped for 3 days and then regrouped. I decided to start with the More tapes, focus on each form move, and be patient with myself. I could really concentrate and feel the different muscles working. As I continue on this T-Tapp journey I plan to work on the More tapes before moving onto the Instruction tapes. Then as I am ready I'll move forward to other advanced tapes.

I have received many benefits such as being able to sit on the floor comfortably and bend and stretch without my weight getting in the way. My flexibility and endurance has increased and my body wakes up and moves so much better after starting my day with PBS and brushing. After a week of bad eating I went back to eating healthy and within 2 days of tapping my body felt just as good as it did before the week of bad eating. I may be on a slow journey but even without perfect form or eating I lost 7.5 inches. Best of all people continue to compliment me on my weight loss and I have not lost any more weight since May 2003. Tapping has slowly changed my body and it looks like I'm losing weight when what I am doing is tightening up what I have. I believe I can and will reach my goal with patience and commitment.

Thank you for this opportunity in the contest and thank you Kitty for all the hard work. I know this was a huge task and some people were unkind. But I have found that some people don't like honesty from good people. I have been told several times at work that "You are just too honest." My response is always "I try to be." You can't go wrong trying to be a good person. Again I thank you for all that you have done for us Tappers.
