"Thunder thighs" was the affectionate name I was called growing up. From an early age I rarely had a positive self-image and I always compared my physical attributes to other girls, which left me feeling inadequate. These comparisons sidelined me, as I became a people watcher instead of being an active participant in normal high school activities like sports. I have always felt chunky. Well, 'chunky' continued through young adulthood and my body even started to add extra weight despite all my efforts of exercising regularly and eating low fat foods.

Marriage and two beautiful daughters later I continued to struggle with my size and weight. A dark cloud even hung over my head with a familial history of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes. I believed these conditions were my destiny as I struggled with being the 'average' size of 12 - 14, which was too big for my frame.

Desperately searching for a magic answer, I stumbled on to the T-Tapp website quite by accident. I started to read everything on the site and thought Teresa was sending me a private message, "Yes, you can." I started on my T-Tapp journey!

I found new muscles and a new awareness of linear alignment that made me feel wonderful. My self-confidence improved and I felt stronger; yet no inch loss. So I continued tapping and added rebounding into my schedule. I have never enjoyed exercise as much as I was at that point. Then the inches melted away. My records show a loss of 21" and I was wearing a size 8 in about 9 months.

Teresa was right, "I can do it," I thought, but I was not ready to lose my 'chunkiness.' So I unconsciously stopped paying attention to form, indulged in too many man made foods and the inches crept back on.

Wearing a size 12 again, losing the motivation to move and always feeling lethargic, I went to my doctor for an annual exam. Casually mentioning my 'always tired' phenomenon he requested that I have my thyroid checked. To my surprise I was diagnosed hypothyroid with Hashimoto's disease. That same week, Teresa sent me another inspirational message in the form of a contest.

In the course of the past 8 weeks, I have varied my workouts to include tempo, tempo LB, SATI, BWO+, rebounding and lots of HD's. I also had a two-week family vacation whereas I tried to incorporate SATI principles as much as possible while sightseeing. I tried to workout in the a.m. and then again in the p.m. during July for about 15 to 20 minutes at a time. August has been a little more sporadic with workouts being primarily in the a.m., but PBS and HD's were usually everyday.

So here I am today 33 years young, down 6 ½ inches in 8 weeks, eating a little bit healthier each day and a new outlook on life that truly believes in Teresa every time she says, "Yes, you can," and "You did it!" because I am doing it, feeling great and showing my daughters, the T-Tapp way! Thank you Teresa!
