My name is Emily Richter and I have been a Certified T-Tapp Fitness Trainer since 2000. I began studying nutrition and physical fitness in 1988 and became a nutritional researcher and personal trainer soon after. My pursuit to find answers about the body stemmed from the ailments I endured as a child (Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura), teenager (appendectomy and Chronic Epstein Barr Virus), and young adult (hysterectomy, tonsillectomy, subcutaneous mastectomy). I had a hysterectomy two months prior to receiving my BS in Computer Information Systems when my daughter was only 3. The hysterectomy was a blessing and a curse. It ignited my determination to help others prevent what happened to me but it also caused a hormonal imbalance resulting in an increase of 40 pounds, 4 dress sizes, plus the bonus stress that is packaged with such a change.
Once I received my degree, began work, and purchased my own computer, I was introduced to the internet. With information at my finger tips, my passion for ailment and obesity prevention soared. Every bit of free time I had was dedicated to finding answers. I studied blood types, gender, heritages, food processing, horticulture, and anything else I could think of that may affect our quality of life. I used myself as a guinea pig for products, diets, and exercise regimens. Although that probably hurt my body more than helped, I was desperate for answers. I still felt sick, adult acne had found permanent residence on my face, and the weight would not budge even though I exercised six days a week for two hours each session.
In 1998, I saw a T-Tapp ad in Women's Fitness Magazine. It mentioned rehabilitation and inch loss. My mom was recovering from back and neck surgery and I was looking for something she could do to regain her strength. After talking at length with Teresa, I was so impressed with her knowledge of the body, nutritional outlook, and philosophy, that I ordered the video tapes. I did the recommended Total Workout boot camp for 14 days straight and lost one size. After T-Tapping for only eight weeks, I lost another 3 sizes and felt amazing.
Teresa Tapp and T-Tapp have been a blessing to my whole family. When my daughter was 15, she signed with Ford Models. The first thing they told her was that she needed to lose one inch from her hips. I was livid and ready to pull her out. The only thing going through my mind was, “The pressure of keeping a perfect body is already starting, and they are NOT going to ruin my baby’s self esteem….” My daughter calmly listened and said, “Don’t worry mama, I will just go home and do T-Tapp.” Sure enough, in one week, she was down a whole inch. All those years of seeing her “mama” do T-Tapp paid off. In addition, my mother’s back is stronger than ever because of T-Tapp. She is fit and feels great; even though I still hear her fussing at Teresa on the TV (although determined, my mom will fuss when something is challenging).
The quality of life that I live today is something I could have only dreamed. I have God, my health, my family, and happiness. In striving to learn the key to ailment and obesity prevention, I did figure a few things out. Worry, lack of sleep, binging, and exercising too much (Teresa was right) were the underlying causes of my ailments. They are all a form of stress on the body. Stress comes in many different forms but we have the power to keep it out of our lives. When I choose to treat my body right and keep the stress away, acne leaves, hair grows back thicker, weight falls off, and I’m happy.
Prevention is the key. T-Tapp can help prevent stress. When you feel mental stress creeping up or the urge to binge, do a couple sets of Hoe Downs. If this simple, yet powerful movement from the T-Tapp system can reprogram your mindset, just think what the entire workout can do for you. T-Tapp is not just a fitness program, it is a wellness program, and it has blessed me and my family beyond measure.
